The following is a list of upcoming area events as provided to The Brazil Times:

A Celebration!

In celebration of five years in the community, the Marathon Gas Station, 7996 N. State Road 59, Brazil (formerly Quik Pick South), will provide free fountain drinks to the residents Tuesday.

In addition, the station will give away free sunglasses while supplies last.

Meeting Set

A regular meeting of the Brazil Board of Public Works will take place Tuesday, at 10 a.m., in council chambers.

General business will be discussed and the public is welcome to attend.

Vision Seminar

The V.F.W. Post 1127, 303 S. Depot St., Brazil, will host a Vision Awareness Seminar Wednesday.

The event is scheduled to start at 10:30 a.m.

October is vision awareness month.

There will be guest speakers on hand from the YMCA of Clay County, Easter Seals, local fire departments, vocational rehabilitation, local eye doctors, mobility trainers and more.

The event is sponsored by the V.F.W. Women's Auxiliary.

Meeting Set

The October meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the Brazil Housing Authority will take place at 8:30 a.m., Thursday, in the board room of the Brazil Housing Authority Management Office, 122 W. Jackson St., Brazil.

Turkey Supper Scheduled

The Bowling Green Order of the Eastern Star will conduct a Turkey Supper Saturday, Oct. 15, from 4-7:30 p.m., at the Bowling Green Community Center.

Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children.

Drinks and desserts are included in the meal.

Carry out will be available.

Dinner Time!

The V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary will be having a spaghetti dinner Saturday, Oct. 15, from 4-8 p.m.

Cost for the dinner will be $5.
