State children's home sets up grand opening

WABASH, Ind. -- Vernon Manor Children's Home (Vernon Manor), a not-for-profit pediatric skilled nursing facility, has announced the grand opening of its new addition.

Vernon Manor Children's Home serves children and young adults from all over the state who are handicapped or need skilled nursing medical needs.

The new addition features larger resident rooms, an expanded therapy area and larger activity areas as well as a new dining room.

A state-of-the-art wireless multi-sensory environment is under construction, which will be unique to the state.

The grand opening ceremony will take place Thursday, Oct. 20, from 4-7 p.m., at Vernon Manor.

"We are very pleased with our new addition at Vernon Manor Children's Home," Director of Operations Leslie Anderson said. "This will enable us to better service our current residents as well as future residents from Indiana and surrounding states."
