Independent candidate outline plans for office

Friday, October 14, 2011

Born and reared in Brazil, my home and heart has always been in our town.

A 1969 graduate of Brazil High, I attended Indiana State University.

Married to the former Susan McDonald, who has two daughters and a son, the late Kirk Albright. We have seven beautiful grandchildren.

We are active members of Christ Community Church.

My working with people experience includes 16 years with Miller and Sons Funeral Home, 25 years at Pell's, and seven years serving Hamilton Center, first as Psychiatric Technician, then as Casework Manager. Currently a Correctional Officer for State of Indiana assigned the first eight years as Drug-Alcohol Abuse Counselor.

Serving since 2007 as City Councilman for Ward 3, I've functioned as President of the Council. Because of what is happening in our town, I've chosen to be an Independent candidate for Mayor.

As Mayor, my plans include:

*Obtaining grants to repair streets, starting with the worst, regardless of neighborhood,

* Putting police-substation inside West Central Village Apartment complex and more patrolling of all senior housing units to assist residents to live in safe surroundings, and

* Acknowledging our heritage as a people. I would launch a Wednesday morning prayer meeting before the workday open to city employees and the public. We all need a mid-week boost in our spiritual lives.

Please vote even if you've never bothered with local elections before. You can be sure that if elected, I will owe neither the Democrat nor Republican parties.

As an Independent, I will owe you, the voters.
