I am Dustin Jorgensen, and I'm running for Brazil City Council, Ward 4.

I have lived in Clay County my entire life.

I graduated from Northview High School in 2004, where I played soccer, was a member of the marching band and belonged to several clubs.

I then attended Indiana State University, where I received my Bachelor's of Science degree in Elementary Education in 2008.

This August, I received my Master's of Education degree in School Administration and Supervision.

I am currently employed at Staunton Elementary as a fifth-grade teacher. I am also head coach of the Northview High School boys' soccer team.

I play the trombone in the Brazil Concert Band and the Jackson Township Community Band.

My work lets me interact with many groups of people and those of all ages. I belong to many committees within my school and the school corporation. These experiences give me the understanding and experience of working with a team to solve problems.

I want the opportunity to work with the citizens of Brazil, the city council and the new mayor to help solve our city's problems.

There is always room for improvement, and I believe I can help our city improve. We must work together as a city to change the present and improve the quality of life we experience now, tomorrow and in the future.

I appreciate everyone's support and hope that you will vote for me Nov. 8.
