Library hosts fish fry

Tuesday, October 18, 2011

CLAY CITY -- The R.E.I.N. Center Community Library in Clay City will host a Jonah Fish Fry Saturday, Oct. 22, from 4-7:30 p.m.

The event will take place at the Orange Building in Goshorn Memorial Park, Clay City.

The menu will consist of fish, baked beans, green beans, cole slaw or applesauce, bread, tea, lemonade or water.

Dessert will be available, but is not included in the menu.

Advance tickets cost $7 for adults and $4 for children. Cost at the door will be $7.50 for adults and $4.50 for children.

Carry out will be available.

Advance tickets may be purchased at both Clay City banks and the Clay City Pharmacy.

The event is sponsored by the R.E.I.N. Center Coalition.

According to R.E.I.N. officials, half of the profits from the fish fry will go the library, with the other half going to build a new community center.

The library, according to officials, does not receive federal, state or local funds, and its only means of staying open is through donations, book sales and other events.

Hours of operation at the library are Wednesday and Thursday from 1-8 p.m., and Fridays from 1-4 p.m.

Library card membership is $15 per year per family.
