Candidates to be on ballot

The Clay County Election Office recently notified The Brazil Times with a list of candidates who will appear on the ballot for the November Municipal Election, including:

City of Brazil

* Mayor -- Thomas J. (T.J.) Sneddon (Republican), Brian L. Wyndham (Democrat) and Steven A. Lamb (Independent),

* Clerk-Treasurer -- Mary E. Fisher (Republican) and Karen L. McQueen (Democrat),

* City Council At-Large -- Patricia (Pat) Heffner (Republican) and Tyler W. Hutcheson (Democrat),

* City Council Ward 1 -- Gary D. Rickert (Republican) and P. Brad Deal (Democrat),

* City Council Ward 3 -- A. Ann Bradshaw (Democrat) and Mark A. Bedwell (Independent), and

* City Council Ward 4 -- Dustin C. Jorgensen (Republican) and William G. (Bill) Lovett (Democrat).

Town of Clay City

* Clerk-Treasurer -- Danny J. Wilson (Republican) and Melinda Sue Booe (Democrat), and

* Town Council At-Large (vote for three) -- Roy W. Chenoweth (Republican), Robert L. Freeman (Republican), Guy J. Dickerson (Democrat), Richard (Dick) Sutton (Democrat) and Tammy Sue (Fulk) Wilson (Democrat).

Town of Knightsville

* Clerk-Treasurer -- Jason M. Walker (Republican) and Charlotte Reyher (Democrat).

County Election Office representatives added recent state legislation states candidates who filed to run in the 2011 Municipal Election are not to appear on the Nov. 8, 2011, ballot if they are unopposed.

Although they will not be on the ballot, the following candidates will begin serving their four-year office terms Jan. 1, 2012:

City of Brazil

* City Council Ward 2 -- Samuel N. (Sam) Glover.

Town of Carbon

* Clerk-Treasurer -- Diane G. Fields, and

* Town Council -- David A. McFaddin, Dennis E. Rightsell and Josephine A. Rightsell.

Town of Center Point

* Clerk-Treasurer -- Roger R. Campbell, and

* Town Council -- Helen L. Hoffa, Donald William Moreau and Roy A. Smith.

Town of Harmony

* Clerk-Treasurer -- Donna Jan Mullinix,

* Town Council Ward 1 -- Elmer W. Pollard Sr.,

* Town Council Ward 2 -- Leslee Ann McDonald,

* Town Council Ward 3 -- Brian David Mathis, and

* Town Council Ward 4 -- Opal Janice Gooch.

Town of Knightsville

* Town Council -- David M. Brown, Debra S. Cress and Charles M. (Mike) Kester.

Town of Staunton

* Clerk-Treasurer -- Catherine L. Mienheartt, and

* Town Council -- William A. (Andy) Kirchner, Bradley W. (Brad) Webster and Edward A. Nevins.

In addition, the election office stated early voting hours in the election office will take place at the following times and dates:

* Oct. 24-Nov. 4 (Monday-Friday) -- 8-11 a.m., and noon-4 p.m.,

* Saturday, Nov. 5 -- 9 a.m.-4 p.m., and

* Monday, Nov. 7 -- 8 a.m.-noon.

If people want you out of the Mayor's office , I only hope they want you out of City council.

It's time for New people , the old ones did othing.
