Prostate screens given

Friday, October 21, 2011

GREENCASTLE -- On Tuesday, Nov. 11, Putnam County Hospital will host prostate screens for men in surrounding counties.

The screen is an annual event that is sponsored by Putnam County Hospital Cancer Center.

"Early detection is the key," Cancer Center LPN Lou Fordice said. "We offer screenings to encourage more men to take an interest in their health and to protect themselves from cancer."

The physician exam is at no charge. A $10 laboratory fee will be collected for the PSA blood test.

The screen will be conducted by appointment only. To schedule a screen, call the Cancer Center at 765-655-2581.

The screens will take place from 9 a.m.-noon, with Dr. Pravin Patel and Dr. Robert Nelson, and from 4-6 p.m., with Dr. Keith Landry in the Outpatient Specialty Clinic on the first floor of the hospital.
