Karlin G. "Jake" Fatch, 83, Indianapolis, passed away Oct. 19, 2011.
He was born in Center Point Aug. 20, 1928, to the late George A. and Mary (Fischer) Fatch.
He is survived by son Morris K. Fatch (Christi), Plainfield, daughters Mary B. Fatch, Indianapolis, Joyce L. Douthit (Richard), Plainfield, and Jean L. Thomas, Plainfield, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, sister Joan Youngblood (Owen), Center Point, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by wife Donna M. (Youngblood) Fatch, daughter Linda M., son Mark A., one brother and two sisters.
He farmed the family farm and worked the coal mine in Clay County until moving to Indianapolis, where he worked at Allison Gas Turbine for 28 years until retiring in 1993.
He was a lifetime member of Center Point Lodge No. 597, F. & A.M.
He was a one-time member of the Wayne Township Volunteer Fire Department Co. No. 4, and a long-time member of Mount Olive United Methodist Church.
Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Mount Olive United Methodist Men.
Services will be 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, at Conkle Funeral Home, Speedway Chapel, with calling there from 4-8 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 23.
Burial will be in Center Point Cemetery, with graveside service at 1 p.m.
