Food Drive!

Tuesday, November 22, 2011

The Meridian Elementary School Student Council recently sponsored a Thanksgiving Food Drive. The students collected 1,310 non-perishable items for the Clay County Food Pantry. The council conducted a competition in both primary and intermediate grades, with the winner of the competition earning an ice cream sundae party for their classroom. The primary winner was Laura Maurer's Kindergarten class and the intermediate winner was Christy Stevenson's third-grade class. Student Council members shown with the items include third-grade representatives Colin Lundy, Cassie Smith and Braylynn Cass and fourth-grade representative and Student Council President Bailey Bell.
