The Clay County Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m., Monday, Dec. 5, in the lower level of the museum.
The guest speaker will be Donald Layton, a retired history professor from Indiana State University.
Layton taught World War II history and has taken groups on tours of the sites of D-Day and the Battle of the Bulge, which started Dec. 16, 1944, and was the largest land battle of the war.
His program will focus on the Battle of the Bulge.
The Dec. 5 event will also be the annual meeting of the membership and the election of officers and board members will take place.
The public is invited to attend the meeting.
The museum will close in the middle of December for its annual winter closing.
The exact date will be announced at a later time.
Historical Society representatives added there are still a few of the Clay County afghans left.
