Hendrix promoted through IDOC

Jack Hendrix
Terre Haute resident Jack Hendrix, formerly of Clay County, was recently appointed the Indiana Department of Correction Director of Classification.

Hendrix, a 24-year veteran of the department, most recently served as Assistant Superintendent of Re-entry at the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility.

The Indiana State University graduate began his career as an Officer at the Putnamville Correctional Facility in 1987. Through the course of his career with the IDOC, Hendrix has served as a Correctional Counselor, Classification Supervisor, Programs Director and Assistant Superintendent during assignments at Putnamville, Wabash Valley and the Branchville Correctional Facility.

Hendrix, 51, will now manage IDOC Operations Support Services, Offender Movement, Offender Records and Offender Placement Divisions, based at Central Office in Indianapolis.

Hendrix is a founding board member of the Correctional Professional Assistance Fund of Indiana, is Vice Chair of the Board of Directors and CPAFI Internal Contribution and Communication Chair.

He is a long-time member of the Indiana Criminal Justice Association, serving as Vice President and Board Chairperson.
