Christmas Parade

Friday, November 25, 2011

One-year-old Brycen Krejckant (top) waves as people riding in decorated floats pass him by. Brycen is the son of Jesse and James Krejckant. Later in the parade line-up, Santa (bottom) makes an appearance during the 2011 Christmas in the Park parade Friday evening.

From what I have heard there were one or two accidents involved with the parade this year. I heard that a child was run over by a trailer after running into the street for candy and I heard that a child fell from a trailer and broke a leg. If either of these stories is true I would like to read about it (them) in the Times.

Both are false!

Somebody riding double on a bike fell off the back of the bike and hit their head....not related to the parade, just happened to have happened at the same time and downtown at that.

The other was an accident when the young person was bumped by a trailer and received injury to one of the lower legs.

It's a WONDER that NONE of the children who came to watch the parade with THEIR PARENTS got run over! People and children need to stay out of the street during a parade. Maybe a no candy rule should be enforced....how many would come to the parade then?

Oh yea, are these the only 2 pictures TBT took of the parade? What a shame! This paper is really going downhill at a high rate of speed!

ACTUALLY, a child did fall off of the parade float. Broken leg? No. Very shocked that the Brazil Times is slacking in their facts department. And to any who may ask, Yes, I did actually see it for myself. It has nothing to do with bad parenting or candy.
