Relay for Life of Clay County sells ornaments

Friday, December 2, 2011

A new event will take place at the Clay County Courthouse during the month of December.

Relay For Life groups have a tree -- the "Tree of Hope" -- set up in the main lobby close to the huge tree decorated by local elementary school students.

Paper Jingle Bell Ornaments -- which will be personalized with a loved one's name -- are currently being sold. The ornaments will be placed on the tree for display throughout the Christmas season.

The ornaments are only $1 and all donations go to Relay For Life of Clay County for cancer research.

The ornaments will be hand made by Northview High School Key Club students.

The ornaments may be purchased "In Honor Of," or "In Memory Of," a loved one who has suffered from cancer.

A volunteer will be at the courthouse each afternoon from 1-4 p.m., to sell the ornaments and hang them on the tree.

For further information, call Carrol Evans at 442-0505, Janice Piatt at 443-3745, Pat Krider at 448-1767, Annette Walden at 448-9007 or Rachel Romas at 812-243-6541.

Maybe they should make Real Christmas ornaments for Relay for life.
