The following is a list of upcoming area events as provided to The Brazil Times:

Christmas Program

Staunton Elementary School will conduct its Christmas Program today.

Children in grades first, third and fifth will perform today.

Doors to the school will open at 6 p.m., each evening, and the program is scheduled to begin at approximately 6:30 p.m.

There is no cost to attend.

Breakfast With Santa

The Clay City Band Boosters will sponsor a Breakfast With Santa event at the Clay City Jr./Sr. Auditeria Saturday, from 9-11 a.m.

Breakfast will include pancakes and sausage. Cost is $6 for everyone ages 3-over.

Photographs with Santa will be available for $4.

Crafts and activities for children of all ages will be available.

Hoop Shoot Contest

The Elks National Free Throw "Hoop Shoot" contest will take place Saturday, at East Side Elementary School.

The event is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m.

Boys and girls ages 8-13 are invited to compete. Contestant age groups will be determined by age as of April 1, 2012.

Meeting Date Changed

The Brazil Parks and Recreation Board meeting has been changed from Tuesday, Dec. 13, to Monday, Dec. 12, due to scheduling conflicts.

The meeting will take place in Council Chambers of Brazil City Hall at 6:30 p.m.

General business will be discussed and the public is invited to attend.

Christmas Walk

The annual Christmas In The Park Christmas Walk will take place Sunday, Dec. 18, from 6-8 p.m., at Forest Park.

The event will include Christmas Caroling by various church groups.
