William 'Slim' O. Potter

William 'Slim' O. Potter, 92, Brazil, died Dec. 7, 2011, at Cloverleaf Healthcare Facility.

He and his dear wife Deenie have been residents there for over a year. Slim was born Nov. 22, 1919, in Blanchard, Okla., the son of William Omar Potter Sr. and Willie (Johnson) Potter.

Slim and Deenie were married Feb. 15, 1940.

He worked for several years at Libby Owens Glass Co., retiring in 1982.

Following retirement he moved to Brazil, Ind., in 1983. He also worked at Elko cattle ranch in Nevada and Diamond Bar cattle ranch in California as a manager. They have been members of the First Baptist Church, and attended Carbon Baptist.

Slim was a Deacon at White Avenue Baptist Church in California. He also was a special deputy in Clay County.

Survivors include his wife Lola Nadine 'Deenie' Southard Potter, daughter in law Jackie Potter, Brazil, granddaughter Kimber Plemmons and husband Tom, Roachdale, grandson Brent Potter, Brazil, great-grandchildren Broc Potter, Lindsey Potter and Weston Detienne.

Services will be held Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, at 1 p.m., with Bob Sampson officiating at French Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m., until time of service.
