Book Signing

Parke County resident Mike Lunsford will be signing copies of his latest book, "A Place Near Home," at the Coffee Grounds Bakery and Coffee Shop, 1115 E. National Ave., Brazil, Saturday.

The event will begin at 10:30 a.m., and conclude at 1 p.m.

Both of Lunsford's first two books, "The Off Season," and "Sidelines," will also be available for purchase.

Meeting Moved

The Clay County Redevelopment Commission has rescheduled its December meeting.

The committee, which generally meets on the third Wednesday of each month, as moved its monthly meeting to 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 14.

The meeting will take place at Brazil City Hall, and the public is invited to attend.

Republican Club To Meet

The Clay County Republican Club will conduct its monthly meeting Monday, Dec. 12, at 7 p.m., at the Clay County Senior Citizen's Center, 120 S. Franklin St., Brazil.

The meeting will be a Christmas celebration.

Members are asked to bring finger foods.

A donation of paper products such as toilet paper, paper towels, etc., to donate to the Clay County Senior Citizen's Center will be collected as well.

Board Of Works To Meet

A regular meeting of the Brazil Board of Public Works will take place Dec. 13, at 2 p.m., in Council Chambers of Brazil City Hall.

General business will be discussed and the public is welcome to attend.

City Council To Meet

A regular meeting of the Brazil Common Council will take place at 7 p.m., Dec. 14, in Council Chambers of Brazil City Hall.

General business will be discussed and the public is welcome to attend.

Youth Dance

The YMCA of Clay County will conduct a youth dance Friday.

The dance is open to sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders. It will begin at 8 p.m., and end at 10:30.

Cost to attend the dance is $5.

Hoop Shoot Contest

The Elks National Free Throw "Hoop Shoot" contest will take place Saturday, at East Side Elementary School.

The event is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m.

Boys and girls ages 8-13 are invited to compete. Contestant age groups will be determined by age as of April 1, 2012.
