The Harmony Town Council voted to fill the vacant town marshal job at its monthly meeting Tuesday night.
The council voted all in favor, to hire former Harmony Town Marshal Bob Parr to the same position.
Council President Janice Gooch said Parr worked as Harmony's town marshal for 10 years, and he will start at the first of the year.
"As of January 1, Bob will be the town marshal," Gooch said.
"We have a list of things that we want him to do, that we expect him to do."
The council said Harmony has been without a town marshal since March of 2010 and noted that protection was key, among other things.
"He's supposed to take care of seeing that our ordinances are adhered to," Gooch said.
The Harmony Town Council meets the first Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m., in the Harmony Community Center.
