Dugan, along with three other individuals, are one step closer to winning the contest called 'Do Something Epic,' which is hosted by the travel company Epic World Travel. Participants of the contest have been playing for a chance to travel the world for a year while blogging about their experiences.
Dugan forwarded the official statement to The Brazil Times for the final four, which stated how Epic World Travel made its decision.
"It came down to who we believed was worldly experienced enough yet could still see the world from a fresh perspective," Epic World Travel said in the statement.
"Someone strong enough to cope with the harsh itinerary, yet insightful enough to convey their experiences for everyone else to enjoy. We needed someone with lots of energy that could be channeled into a fun and informative round the world blog, (Facebook) update, Twitter etc."
According to the statement, Epic World Travel will continue to talk with the finalists before a decision on the winner is made. Dugan, a seasoned traveler, is living in Exmouth, Western Australia, while she saves money to continue her travels in January.
