The following is a list of upcoming area events scheduled to take place Saturday, Sunday and Monday as provided to The Brazil Times:

Breakfast With Santa

The Clay City Band Boosters will sponsor a Breakfast With Santa event at the Clay City Jr./Sr. Auditeria Saturday, from 9-11 a.m.

Breakfast will include pancakes and sausage. Cost is $6 for everyone ages 3-over.

Photographs with Santa will be available for $4.

Crafts and activities for children of all ages will be available.

Hoop Shoot Contest

The Elks National Free Throw "Hoop Shoot" contest will take place Saturday, at East Side Elementary School.

The event is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m.

Boys and girls ages 8-13 are invited to compete. Contestant age groups will be determined by age as of April 1, 2012.

Holiday Coffee

The Clay County Skatepark Committee will conduct a Holiday Coffee event at the home of Matt and Shannon Houston Willmore, 522 N. Meridian St., Brazil, Saturday.

The event will start at 10 a.m., and end at noon.

Coffee, tea, sweet breads and fruits will be served.

Book Signing

Parke County resident Mike Lunsford will sign copies of his latest book, "A Place Near Home," at the Coffee Grounds Bakery and Coffee Shop, 1115 E. National Ave., Brazil, Saturday.

The event will start at 10:30 a.m., and end at 1 p.m.

Pet Pictures

Local pet organization 911 Pet Rescue will sponsor Pet Pictures With Santa, from 1-4 p.m., Saturday, at Clippity Do Dog, 8810 E. Wabash Ave., Terre Haute.

Cost for the photograph is $5 and those purchasing a photograph will have their choice of a cardboard frame.

All proceeds will go to benefit 911 Pet Rescue, a non-profit animal rescue.

Republicans To Meet Monday

The Clay County Republican Club will conduct its monthly meeting Monday, Dec. 12, at 7 p.m., at the Clay County Senior Citizen's Center, 120 S. Franklin St., Brazil.

The meeting will be a Christmas celebration.

Members are asked to bring finger foods.

A donation of paper products such as toilet paper, paper towels, etc., to donate to the Clay County Senior Citizen's Center will be collected as well.
