Evansville Central tops Northview boys on Saturday

Visiting Evansville Central got off to a good start in the first half and was able to finish off a 69-56 victory over Northview on Saturday night.

The Bears jumped out to an 18-11 lead at the first stop despite a pair of 3-pointers from Damon Hyatt and one from Dillon Reynolds.

The Knights hit eight 3-pointers in the game, three of them in a third quarter that saw Northview close to within 47-42 heading into the final period.

However, Evansville Central was able to close out the win by hitting all seven of its free throws in the fourth quarter for the victory.

The Knights got 16 points from Dillon Reynolds, who also hit four 3-pointers. Sophomore Ethan Whitson added 15 points, seven in the fourth period. Craig Peters added eight for the Knights, who travel to Edgewood on Friday night for a boy/girl doubleheader.
