Friday, December 16, 2011

Times Staff Report

DUGGER -- The Clay City girl's basketball team was missing senior Brielle Drelick due to the flu, but the Eels still had plenty of firepower to claim a 59-28 victory on the road at Union (Dugger) Thursday night.

Carmela Roeschlein knocked down four 3-pointers as part of a 25-point night and the Eels got plenty of time for its bench after building a 33-14 lead at halftime. Abby Reed scored nine points for Clay City with Madison Booe adding seven and Allie Miller recording a six-point game.

The Eels are now 7-3 overall and 5-0 in the SWIAC. Clay City is off until playing in the Toby Yoho Tourney at Eastern (Greene) on Dec. 27-28.
