The following is a list of upcoming area events as provided to The Brazil Times:
The Clay County Genealogical Society will conduct its regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday, Dec. 20, at 1 p.m., in the library in Center Point.
The main item of business for the meeting will be election of officers for the coming year.
After the meeting, the society will have a Christmas celebration.
Those interested in attending are asked to bring finger foods.
The library will be closed after the meeting for the holidays. It will reopen to the public Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012.

LEAAP Into Christmas!
Family Fun Day will take place at the Linking Education to Adults, Adolescents and Preschoolers Wednesday, Dec. 21, from 10-11 a.m., and noon-1 p.m.
Children will be accompanied by at least one adult and will participate in activities related to the book, "The Gingerbread Man."
In addition, the Family Literacy Christmas party will take place from 1:10-1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 21.
Council Sets Up Meeting
A special meeting of the Brazil Common Council will take place at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 21, in Brazil City Hall Council Chambers.
General business will be discussed and the public is welcome to attend.
Christmas Craft Hour!
Children ages 7-under are invited to the Brazil Public Library Thursday, Dec. 22, for a Christmas Craft Hour.
The event will take place between 6-7 p.m., and is free and open to the public.

Blood Drive Scheduled
The Indiana Blood Center will host a blood drive at the Brazil National Guard Armory Jan. 21, 2012, from noon-3 p.m.
The blood center hosts hundreds of drives each month.
