Catholic Charities, Terre Haute, will be bringing their mobile food pantry to Bowling Green, Tuesday, Jan. 10, from 10 a.m.-noon.
The organization brings a couple of people and a truckload of food to feed 50-100 families.
Treasurer of Old Settlers Denise Bridgewater worked with Catholic Charities to allow the organization to use the Bowling Green Community Building to set up.
She and other volunteers will be passing out food to any Clay County residents in need.
"That's a benefit of a mobile food pantry," Bridgewater said. "Some people may not have the capabilities of driving far, so bringing the pantry closer to them is a good thing."
Those who come for the food will only be asked to write down their names, the number of people in their family and what town they are from.
"There seems to be a great need for food," Bridgewater said. "Maybe people don't have enough income for food. We don't want anyone to go hungry, especially children. If you need food, then come and get it."
