The Brazil Board of Works met Thursday to discuss the contract between the fire department and the city, as well as the sale of a salvaged vehicle.
The contract, renewed yearly, will provide the city and county with fire protection and/or emergency services for the 2012 calendar year.
The contract was presented to the board and was passed 2-0.
Meanwhile, a broken down city truck, which was going to be scrapped by city officials, was purchased by a city employee for $300.
The Board of Works meets regularly on the second Tuesday of the month, in addition to the last Thursday of the month.
All meetings are scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
However, due to the upcoming change of administration at the start of the New Year, the regular meeting times are subject to change in 2012.
