Annabelle "Annie" Jeanne Brunette, 86, Brazil, passed away at Cloverleaf Health Care, Jan. 4, 2012.
She was born April 8, 1925, in Brazil, the daughter of Benjamin Harrison and Edith Irene (Fugate) Ball. Mrs. Brunette graduated from Bridgeton High School and later St. Anthony School. On Sept. 28, 1946 Annabelle married John Leo Brunette who preceded her in death on Aug. 14, 1978. She worked at St. Anthony for 15 years and Clay County Hospital for 10 years as a nurse and an operating room technician.
She attended Annunciation Catholic Church and was a life member of the VFW, American Legion and Disabled American Veterans.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Leo Brunette, brother Richard Luther Ball, sisters Patricia Diane Miller, Benidean Mildred Costa, Norma Joan Pearce,.
Survivors include her son, John Paul Brunette, daughter Paulina (Brunette) Vanatti, grandchildren, Daniel "Scott" Vanatti (Emilee Schopmeyer) and Mykel "Eric" Vanatti, sister, Gertrude Eldora Bennett and special friend Robert "Bob" Cox as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Burial will take place at Restlawn Cemetery. Memorial gathering will be held Friday, Jan. 6, 2012 at Christ Community Church from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., with food and fellowship directly following.
