Wilford M. Dobson, 97, Noblesville, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, at Riverview Hospital. He was born on Dec. 1, 1914, to Ernest and Dallas (Stallcop) Dobson in Lena, Ind.

Wilford worked as a mechanic for Hudson's Battery & Electric and was a member of the Brazil First United Methodist Church where he served as choir director for many years.

He played tuba in the Brazil Concert Band for 68 years and was president and historian for many years.

He was also a member of the Brazil Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by daughters Mary (Gordon) Resler and Jane (Joe) Poio, granddaughter Angie (Bill) Labinowicz, grandson Ben Resler, and great-grandchild Jakub Resler.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Dobson, and brothers Wayne, James and Bill Dobson.

Services will be at 7 p.m., on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at First United Methodist Church, 2051 Monument Street, Noblesville, with visitation beginning at 6 p.m., prior to the service.

An additional service will be held at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012, at Brazil First United Methodist Church, North Meridian Street, Brazil, with the Rev. Jack Wolfe officiating both services.

Burial will be at Cottage Hill Cemetery in Brazil.
