The restaurant recently teamed up with Comedy & Co., Bloomington, for performances during the first Saturday of each month.
According to Lake House representatives, the contract is currently set up through the first three months of this year.
Comedy & Co. owner Mike Tucker, originally from Brazil, added the shows would present professional comedians. The first show, scheduled for Saturday at 10:30 p.m., will feature Chris Bowers, owner of Morty's Comedy Club in Indianapolis, along with Tucker, Tim McLaughlin and Todd McComas.
Tucker said Morty's is "the No. 1 comedy club in Indiana," while McComas has been a part of Operation Comic Tour, which raises money for veterans. In addition, he said McLaughlin is an "up and comer" in the field of comedy.
Tucker told The Brazil Times he is thrilled to bring more comedy to Clay County.
"A year ago today, I did my first show in Brazil," Tucker said, referring to a shot at the Timeout Sports Bar and Grill. "That's where it started.
"Then I got wind from someone else that the Lake House wanted to do comedy shows. I contacted them, and we did a show in (Dec-ember) and it was packed."
The response to the December show prompted the businesses to reach its current agreement.
Tucker said he always has comedians from Chicago and New York contacting him to book venues, giving him plenty of reason to believe more professional comedians would be willing to perform here.
"There are going to be professional comedians traveling to Brazil," he said. "This is very big, I think. This doesn't happen in small towns. Comedians love going to small towns and have a good show. They will travel to have a good show.
"This is a good location. We can bring professional comedy within a small area. They travel here, and they love it and enjoy it."
Cost to attend Saturday's event will be $10. Doors to the performance open at 9:30 p.m., with the show starting at 10:30.
