Staunton First Christian Church

Sunday school begins at 9:30 a.m., with worship service following at 10:30. Doug Parkey is the minister.

If you need transportation to morning worship, please phone the church office at 446-3211.

The bus is wheelchair equipped.

Children's Church and Wee Worship meet at 10:30 a.m., in the Educational Building.

Wednesday evening Bible Study and Prayer Group meet at 7 p.m.

"Family Fun Night," is this Sunday evening, starting at 5 p.m.

A meal will be served, followed by youth groups and evening worship service.

The Elders will meet at 6 p.m., Monday, Jan. 9, followed by a meeting of the church board at 7 p.m.

On Wednesday, Jan. 11, the Christian Fellowship Club will meet for lunch at Pizza Hut in Brazil at 11:30 a.m.

Thanks to Mike and Linda Simmons for the special music last Sunday.

We extend sympathy to the family of Bonnie Lister, who passed away Dec. 29.

As long as her health permitted, Bonnie was a faithful member of our church's Membership Committee.

She will be sadly missed by us all.

Staunton United Methodist Church

Weekly Zumba sessions continue next Tuesday, Jan. 10. Everyone is invited to attend and donations go to benefit the church.

Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m., with church service following at 10:30.

Scott Aselage is our pastor and Glenna Simons is our pianist.

Remember that the Community Food Pantry is open in the church basement from 3-5 p.m., on the last Wednesday afternoon of each month.

The next food pantry day will be Wednesday, Jan. 25.

Anyone in the Staunton area in need of help is welcome.

We appreciate the support of all the churches, schools, civic organizations and individuals who help make this needed outreach a success.

Please keep praying for everyone who is battling illness, as well as all the brave men and women of our military and their families.

Also remember in prayer all the folks in nursing homes and hospitals and those who have lost loved ones.

Go out of your way to be kind to someone and pray for everyone.
