Frank J. Galambus, 83, Brazil, formerly of Hammond, Ind., passed away unexpectedly at his home in Brazil Friday, Jan. 6, 2012.
Frank was born in Gary, Ind., Oct. 28, 1928, the son of Frank and Justine (Soltis) Galambus.
Frank graduated from Hammond High School with the class of 1947.
He served with honor in the United States Air Force.
Frank married V. Joyce (Krosky) in 1953. She preceded him in death in 2001.
Frank worked as an electrician for Youngstown Sheet and Tube for 30 years, retiring I 1977. After retirement, Frank continued his work as an electrician, working at Purdue University on their Calumet Campus.
He and his wife Joyce lived in the Hammond area most of their life. Following Joyce's passing in 2001, Frank moved to Clay County to enjoy the rural atmosphere.
Frank was a member of the Hammond, Ind., American Legion and the Brazil Knights of Columbus.
Frank had been attending the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Brazil.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents and wife Joyce.
He is survived by his sons Mark Galambus (Sherry), Carmel, Ind., Gary Galambus, Jacksonville, Fla., and Thomas Galambus (Kelly), Ridgeland, Miss., and grandchildren Justine, Elana and Amanda.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at Annunciation Catholic Church Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012, at 11:30 a.m., Eastern Time.
Graveside services will occur at 3:30 p.m., Central Time, at Calvary Cemetery, Portage, Ind.
Visitation will be at French Funeral Home, Brazil, Tuesday, from 4-8 p.m.
