CASCADE -- The Northview girls' basketball team played perhaps its best half of basketball on the road at Cascade on Tuesday evening, but unfortunately it wasn't enough to top the Cadets in a 57-41 decision. Cascade improves to 11-3 this season.

The Cadets came out roaring with a 20-7 lead after one quarter and extended that lead to 39-15 at halftime before the Knights made their move after intermission.

Northview hit seven 3-pointers in the game, four by Sierra Girton, who led the team with 14 points and three by Cassie Weddle, who had 11 points. The Knights were able to narrow the Cascade lead to 11 points, but the halftime deficit was too much to overcome. The Knights outscored Cascade 26-18 after the break.

Cascade got 19 points from Sydney Stein and 12 from Paxton Ott while the Knights also got six from Whitney Halfhill and four from Ashley Hughes.

The Knights are back in action on the road at Martinsville this evening at 6 p.m. in the JV game.
