The following is a list of upcoming area events as provided to The Brazil Times:

Schedule

The Harmony Town Council will conduct its meetings on the first Tuesday of each month.

Meetings will take place at the Harmony Community Center at 7 p.m.

All are welcome to attend the meetings.

Democrats To Meet

The Clay County Democrats will be meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 17, at 7 p.m., at the Clay County Senior Citizen's Center, 120 S. Franklin St., Brazil. A guest speaker will be giving a presentation.

All precinct people are urged to attend along with all Democrats.

Organizational Meeting

The Clay County Redevelopment Commission will conduct its annual organizational meeting Wednesday, Jan. 18, at 6:30 p.m., in the Commissioner's Courtroom at the Clay County Courthouse.

The regular monthly meeting will immediately follow the organizational meeting.

Committee Meeting Set

The Northview High School Postprom Committee will meet Thursday, Jan. 19, at 6 p.m., in room 214 at the high school.

3D Snowflakes!

Interested individuals are invited to the Brazil Public Library at 6 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 19, to learn how to make a 3D snowflake.

The program is free for adults and open to the public.

Breakfast!

Bee Ridge Church will host an all-you-can-eat pancake/sausage breakfast Saturday, Jan. 21, from 7-10 a.m., at the church, 10100 N. Kennedy Crossing Rd., Brazil.

There is no cost for the breakfast, but a freewill offering will be accepted.

All proceeds from the breakfast will benefit the new church building program for Bee Ridge.

Blood Drive

The Indiana Blood Center will host a blood drive at the Brazil National Guard Armory Jan. 21, 2012, from noon-3 p.m.

The blood center hosts hundreds of drives each month.

Book Signing

Local author Marjorie E. Hopkins will conduct a book signing event Saturday, Jan. 21, from 1-3 p.m., at Java Haute, 3805 Wabash Ave., Terre Haute.

Hopkins will be available to sign copies of her novel, "Dying to Meet Him: Wit and Wisdom from a Funeral Director's Wife."

Zumbathon!

The Northview High School Big Brother/Big Sister program will sponsor a Zumbathon Saturday, Jan. 21, from 1-3 p.m., at North Clay Middle School.

The event will take place to raise money for the organization.

Cost is $10.

Parking will be allowed in the front of North Clay and doors open at 12:30 p.m.

Chamber Meeting Set

The Clay County Chamber of Commerce will meet at noon, Tuesday, Jan. 24, at St. Vincent Clay Hospital.

The speaker for the event will be Brazil Mayor Brian Wyndham, who will discuss future plans for the City of Brazil.

Cost for lunch is $7 for members and $10 for non-members.
