Robert 'Lucas' Sampson

Robert "Lucas" Sampson, 30, passed away Jan. 10, 2012, in South Vienna, Ohio.

He was born Nov. 17, 1981, in Linton, Ind., to Bob and Marlene Sampson of South Vienna, formerly of Middletown, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, Lucas is survived by his brother Ryan Sampson, grandparents Robert and Rita Sampson, Brazil, and JoElla Swan, Edwardsport, Ind.

He graduated from Lemon-Monroe High School in 2000, where he was active in band and theater.

He graduated with a bachelor of science in biblical studies from Liberty University, Lynchburg, Va.

He was a member of the Sounds of Liberty, a traveling recruitment musical group, throughout his college career.

Following graduation, he was a Praise and Worship Leader and worked for Southview Hospital in Miamisburg.

He was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Middletown, Ohio.

He will be remembered for his musical talent, sarcastic humor and kindness.

There is a celebration of life open house planned Saturday, Jan. 21, from 1-5 p.m., in his parent's home. Friends and family are invited.

Lucas requested that all donations be made to either Hospice of Dayton or the James Comprehensive Cancer Center at The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus.
