The North Clay seventh-grade basketball team won the Western Indiana Conference title on Saturday afternoon. Members of the team include: Luke Lancaster, Steven Crafton, Dilan Farris, Nick Ganly, Thomas Hess, Jase Glassburn, Jayden Lindsey, Bryce Minor, Kaleb Smith, Kalen Schane, Cameron Roembke, Brenan Walker, Austin Huey, Dylan Hyatt, Braelyne Compton, Mitchell Howald, Drew Lumsdon, Hunter Sullivan.

SPENCER -- The North Clay seventh-grade boys' basketball team wrapped up its season with a championship on Saturday afternoon, claiming the Western Indiana Athletic Conference title at Owen Valley High School.
The Knights opened the afternoon by claiming a lopsided 66-23 victory over South Vermillion as Luke Lancaster poured in 10 points to lead North Clay to the win.
North Clay's Drew Lumsdon had a combined 19 points in the Knights two wins at the WIC Tournament.
Kalen Schane contributed nine points with Dylan Hyatt adding eight. Braelyne Compton and Drew Lumsdon each had seven points. Jace Glassburn tallied six, Mitchell Howald and Hunter Sullivan had five points, Brenan Walker had four, Thomas Hess scored three and Jayden Lindsay tallied two.
In the championship contest, North Clay knocked off the host Patriots by a narrow 35-31 contest. Lumsdon led the Knights with 12, including a pair of clutch free throws with 10 seconds left in the game. Hyatt and Compton had seven points, Schane had four, Howald had two points along with Hess. Sullivan had one point.
The Knights wrapped up a 9-8 season overall.
