To the Editor:

The Clay County Emergency Food Pantry held its quarterly board meeting Friday at the pantry.

Nineteen Executive and Advisory members were in attendance.

A delicious carry-in dinner was enjoyed by all.

Financial reports were provided by Ruth Sciotto and Janet Wallace.

Ruth Haas, Director, presented a statistical report indicating a total of 865 family units, including 3,038 individuals, were served during this quarter.

It was reported that the Christmas Store was a huge success.

The records of incoming food, clothing, household items and toys show that more than sufficient items were donated and disbursed.

Ruth Sciotto reported monetary donations amounted to $9,444.33 and disbursements amounted to $8,993.93, for the purchase of items required for meeting the needs of these families.

The report for the year would indicate that a total of 3,426 family units, involving 11,217 individuals, were provided assistance.

We are experiencing an increase in request for assistance.

The pantry expresses sincere appreciation for all the contributions to this ministry to Clay County.

There is continuing need for volunteers to assist us, male and female.

Please stop by our operation and observe the program as we seek to meet the enlarging ministry to our community.

Please be advised that this ministry is totally volunteer ,and no compensation is provided to these volunteers.

Your continued goodwill and donations will provide for the continuing of this ministry.

Thank you, Clay County.
