Leslie Vernon McKeehan, 58, Brazil, passed away Jan. 25, 2012, at Union Hospital, following a brief illness.
Leslie was born June 7, 1953, in Rockport, Ind., the son of Leslie Virgil and Lillian Ethel (Milam) McKeehan.
Leslie worked as a construction worker and truck driver for many years. Most recently, he had worked at the Jiffy MiniMart in Terre Haute.
Leslie enjoyed working on cars, trucks and motorcycles.
He also enjoyed watching racing and fishing and spending a lot of time with his family, especially his grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son in infancy, Leslie V. McKeehan Jr., and half-sisters Janet Langley and Linda Davis.
He is survived by sons Virgil Lewis McKeehan, West Frankfort, Ill., and Christopher Crecelius, brothers Robert McKeehan (Alice), Illinois, and Gary Wayne McKeehan, Westville, Ind., sisters Roberta McCullough, Brazil, and Brenda Lee Golden, Brazil, and half-sister Carolyn Sue Peterson, Robinson, Ill., companion of 30 years Patty Walker, step-children Marshall Waller, Brazil, Patty Waller, Brazil, and Lori Durbin, Terre Haute, six step-grandchildren, as well as many extended family members.
A memorial service will take place Brazil United Pentecostal Church, 1088 E. United States 40, Brazil, Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, at 2 p.m., with Sister Davis officiating.
At his request, cremation has been entrusted to French Funeral Home.
