The case of the missing tree

Sunday, January 29, 2012

To the Editor:

When our son, Tim, died, his employees at Pell's Photography Studio purchased and planted an ornamental tree in his memory.

They planted the tree in front of the photography studio, which is across from our home on United States 40 E.

We watched that weeping mulberry grow into a tall, mature tree then, during the first week of January, someone cut down the tree, cut it up and hauled it away without permission or knowledge of the family.

No one saw this happen, so it probably occurred at night.

Now, there is only a bare spot where Tim's memorial tree stood, and we cannot understand why anyone would destroy that beautiful tree.

John and Rose Pell,

Brazil
