Florence Wheeler, 86, Columbia, Ky., formerly of Brazil, Ind.,

passed away Sunday morning, Jan. 29, 2012, at 8:15 a.m., at her home after several weeks of illness.

She was born May 1, 1925, in Poland, Ind., the daughter of the late John Pete and Flo Etta Veach Deardorff. She is the widow of Earon Wheeler of Adair County, Ky., who preceded her in death on Aug. 12, 2004.

She was also preceded in death by one son Steven Wheeler on Aug. 18, 1970, her brothers Paul Deardorff and Earl Steuerwald, and a sister Lois Mace.

She is survived locally by nieces and nephews Renee Frazier, Robin Andrews, Ron Deardorff and Forrest Steuerwald. She is also survived by a nephew Donnie Wheeler, nieces Linda Hendrickson, Connie Wheeler, Phyllis Kearney, Pat Downey, Diane Hatcher, Sandy Wheeler and Jeannie Cox, as well as several great nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Mrs. Wheeler attended the Hadley Community Church. She was a key punch operator for American Standard and a homemaker.

Funeral services were Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, at 11 a.m., at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, Columbia, Ky., with Brother Elbert Hadley officiating. Interment was in Haven Hill Cemetery, Columbia, Ky.
