Alpha Omega Chapter of Delta Theta Tau
The regular meeting of the Alpha Omega Chapter of Delta Theta Tau Sorority took place at 7:15 p.m., Jan. 17, in the Presbyterian Church Board Room.
The meeting was opened by Chapter VP Kim Emmert-O'Dell with the Delta Opening Ceremony and Delta Prayer. The secretary called roll with 10 members present.
A sympathy card was read from our National Vice President for Lori Bear and Linda Sheese read the memorial in the ritual.
On a motion by Jenny Ringo, the November minutes were approved as corrected.
The treasurer's report was read, reporting cash available of $6,874.75. The treasurer's report is filed subject to audit. Total bills presented for payment were $1,976.63. On a motion by Jenny Ringo, the bills will be paid.
Reports of Committees
Philanthropy -- October, Melissa reported donations went to Humane Shelter and LEAAP Center.
November -- Tabled
December -- Jennifer French reported donations and purchases went to Serving on the Streets (S.O.S.)
January -- Vangie and Lorna will take donations to Humane Shelter and Food Pantry.
Cheeseballs -- Kim reported a profit of $4,036.16, all extras were sold
Christmas Movies -- Bonnie reported all went well, residents were thrilled with our food and time spent with them. They need cheeseball order forms next year.
Super Bowl Party/Raffle -- Jennifer reported why we didn't go through with this project. There were gaming issues, logo issues, etc. These will be resolved earlier for next year's project. We will apply for an application and once that's approved, we can apply for a gaming license for this one time event
Taste Treat -- Linda reported this will be April 21, 2012, at North Clay Middle School, from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. This year will be a "Crock Pot" recipe theme. Turn in three recipes from different food categories at the February meeting to be chosen.
Geraniums -- Michelle reported a delivery date of Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at the Park Pavilion. Order sheets were passed out with a due date of the March meeting.
Scholarships -- Michelle reported the applications are at NHS and CCHS. The due date back to her is April 3, 2012. This year's recipient was contacted with no response back.
Standing Rules -- Melissa would like ideas for revisions at the February meeting. These were just done last year so hopefully, not much will need updated.
A donation was requested from a middle school student to be able to go on the Spring Break trip. On a motion by Jennifer French, we will donate $200 if that much is still needed.
A donation was requested from Joanna Connors for the Wish You Well program at NHS March 15. On a motion by Diane Braden, we will donate $100.
YMCA Strong Kids Campaign is coming up and Diane Braden made a motion to donate $1,000 now and another $1,000 after May flower sales are in.
Jennifer French claimed hours for Salvation Army.
The next meeting will be Feb. 21, 2012, at Presbyterian Board Room.
Party Group is Linda Sheese and Diane Braden.
The meeting was closed with the Delta Closing Ceremony.
