Local Girl Scout troops were out and about Tuesday as cookies purchased by area residents had arrived.

Girl Scout Troop 2907 troop leader Tonya Hemond told The Brazil Times the group sold approximately 5,000 boxes of cookies this year, much more than usual.

Beth Timberman spent much of Tuesday afternoon delivering cookies her daughter, Macey, 8, had sold.

"She sold 500 boxes of cookies," Beth said.

Hemond said the troop is composed of approximately 30 girls.

Way to go Macey....and Beth! Thanks for my cookies too. And a big Thank You to all that buy and continue to support the Girl Scouts.
