Three individuals were transported to St. Vincent Clay Emergency Hospital Sunday morning following an accident.
According to information provided by the Brazil City Police Department, officials were dispatched to the intersection of National Avenue and Sherman Street at approximately 2:14 a.m., for the accident.
Upon arrival, officials discovered a GMC pickup truck had struck a utility pole located near the Brazil City Garage.
Three individuals were in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
All three were transported St. Vincent for treatment.
One of the individuals, according to officials, was later transported to St. Vincent's Indianapolis for internal injuries. Officials said they initially wanted to airlift the individual, but eventually transported the person via vehicle.
The third individual was treated and released from St. Vincent Clay.
Officials said the driver of the vehicle, Curtis Cooksey, 53, Brazil, was later arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and taken to the Clay County Justice Center (CCJC).
According to CCJC officials, Cooksey bonded out Sunday afternoon.
Other agencies assisting at the scene included the Clay County Sheriff's Department, Brazil City Fire Department and TransCare Ambulance.
