NHS, Clay City perform well at THS

TERRE HAUTE -- The Northview High School and Clay City Jr./Sr. High School winter guard squads all took part at Terre Haute South Saturday.

Taking part in World Class, Northview finished second with a score of 69.90. Avon won the competition with a score of 71.40.

Clay City competed in the Regional A Division and earned a Silver. To score a Silver, teams had to score between 54.05 and 68.96.

Other teams receiving Silver included Brown County, North Putnam, Cloverdale, Beech Grove and Noblesville.

Whiteland and Orleans both earned Gold ratings. To receive Gold, teams had to score 69.0 or above.

In addition, Rensselaer Central competed in Regional A Division and received a Bronze.

Northview will host its next competition Saturday, Feb. 25.

Clay City will take part in a contest at New Palestine High School, Saturday, Feb. 11. Again competing in Regional A Division, other schools Clay City will face include Morristown, Columbia City, Centerville, Whiteland, Orleans and North Putnam.

Clay City will compete at 3 p.m.

North Clay Middle School will also compete at New Palestine, in the Cadet Class Division.

Other schools taking part in Cadet Class include Danville, Avon, Ben Davis, Greenfield-Central, Lawrence Central and Zionsville Cadet.

North Clay is scheduled to compete at 2:04 p.m.
