He was born April 4, 1958, to Paul Dixon Proctor Sr., and Dorothy (Coomer) Proctor in Clay County.
He graduated from Brazil High School class of 1977.
He then attended Indiana State University and later in life, he received a degree in Special Education from Tennessee Tech University.
He was a wrestler who qualified for the Olympic Trials in 1980.
Paul served in the Marines for two years and then in the Army National Guard.
He worked for Banker's Life and Casualty as a Regional Vice President.
Above all things, his family was most important. He enjoyed spending time with them and making memories.
He was preceded in death by his brother Bobby Joe Proctor.
Survivors include his mother Dottie Proctor, father and step-mother Paul Proctor Sr., and Phyllis Proctor, fiance Gayla Thompson Darnell, children Jenica Becklund and husband Casey, Blytheville, Ark., Justin Proctor and fiancée Laura Brown, Fayetteville, Ark., Hailey Proctor, Cookeville, Tenn., Hope Watra and husband Jesse, Cookeville, Tenn., and Joseph Proctor, Cookeville, Tenn., grandchildren Elizabeth, Ashley and Lindsey Becklund, sister Cathy Proctor Hunter and husband Roy, Brazil, and niece Hannah Hunter.
Visitation will be at French Funeral Home Thursday, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Services will take place Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, at 1 p.m., at the funeral home with Pastor Rick Wetnight officiating.
Burial will take place at Clearview Cemetery.
