The Harmony Town Council met for its monthly meeting and passed an ordinance concerning the composition of the parks and recreation board.
The stipulations of Ordinance No. 1-2012 state the board shall be composed of four members, selected by the council based on their interest in and knowledge of parks and recreation and must be residents of Harmony.
Also, no more than two members can be of the same political party, unless the council wishes to vote for a waiver if necessary.
The council talked about ideas of certain people that may be potential candidates to join the board, but noted the political affiliations needed to be found out before anything could be done.
Council President Janice Gooch said she would like at least two more people on the board.
The council decided to find out information on the potential candidates and come back to the issue at a later date.
Meanwhile, the council deemed that on the second Wednesday of every month, at 1 p.m., Harmony would test its tornado siren.
Secretary Donna Mullinix presented the council with a $100 donation from Harmony Diner for the tornado siren.
The Harmony town council meets the first Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m., at the Harmony Community Center.
