The following is a list of upcoming area events as provided to The Brazil Times:

Mobile Food Pantry

The Catholic Charities mobile food pantry will take place the second Tuesday of every month from 10 a.m. to noon at the Bowling Green community building.

Scheduled Meetings

The Clay County Local Emergency Planning Committee will conduct its regular 2012 meetings prior to the Clay County Fire Chief's Association at 6 p.m., with the chief's meetings at 7 p.m., during the following dates:

* Feb. 22 -- At the Poland Fire House,

* May 15 -- At the Dick Johnson Fire House,

* Aug. 21 -- At the Van Buren Fire House, and

* Nov. 20 -- At the Posey Township Fire House.


The Reelsville Volunteer Fire Department will conduct its monthly breakfast Saturday, Feb. 11, from 7-11 a.m.

Chili Dinner

A chili dinner has been scheduled to help raise funds for four Northview High School soccer players.

The event will take place Saturday, Feb. 11, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m., at the Kennedy Crossing Bingo Center. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children 10-under.

The fundraiser was set up for the four players, who will travel to England in July for the 2012 GotSoccer International Cup.

Open House

Habitat for Humanity of Clay County recently announced it will conduct a dedication ceremony and open house for the Mary Ann Hofmann family home.

The event will take place from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 12, at 518 E. Ridge St., Brazil.

The community is invited to attend and tour the home. Refreshments will be served following the dedication ceremony.

Gardener Courses

Classes for the Purdue Master Gardeners course will begin Feb. 13, and conclude May 14.

Cost for the program is $115, which covers course materials, speakers and a copy of the New Purdue Master Gardener book that was recently created.

Meeting Scheduled

The Popcorn Festival of Clay County will meet Monday, Feb. 13, at 6 p.m., at Brazil City Hall Council Chambers, in its first meeting of the year.

The organization has scheduled to meet at 6 p.m., during the second Monday of each month.
