She was born March 19, 1952, in Clay County, as the daughter of Myron and Charlotte Stoelting Nicoson.
Following graduation from high school, she continued her education, earning two masters degrees.
She worked as a teacher for 38 years, mentoring students and encouraging their love of the theater.
She married Kent Ewing March 20, 2000.
She loved traveling to New York City with her students, their parents and friends to catch the latest Broadway shows.
Her most recent assignment was teaching inner city students at an Indianapolis charter school, where she shared with her students her love of the theatre and dramatic arts.
She was preceded in death by her father Myron Nicoson.
She is survived by her husband Kent Ewing, her mother Charlotte Nicoson, sons Ellis and Nick Gebert, brothers Kevin Nicoson (Anne), and Jay Nicoson (Neil), seven nieces and nephews, and other extended family.
Moore Funeral Home was chosen to provide cremation services.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 18, at the funeral home, with visitation with the family from 1-2 p.m.
Pastor Bob Kumpf will be officiating.
Nancy asked that "her speech students prepare their 3-by-5 cards with appropriate comments for a good presentation."
