Her family was by her side. She was born Aug.6, 1927, in Vigo County as the daughter of Lloyd W. and Blanche Irwin Clossin of Parke County.
Norma worked for many years at Columbia Records in Terre Haute, and she also worked at Newlin Johnson Reality until her retirement.
Norma attended Carbon Baptist Church where she taught Adult Bible Study. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Brazil where she helped with the blue denim and lace program for little girls.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and Gideon's International, and she volunteered as the curator of the Little Historic Carbon Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James "Jimmie" Cress whom she married June 23, 1946, brother Dean Clossin, sister Martha Fields, and daughter-in-law Mary Cress.
She is survived by her three children Dean Cress (Debbie), Knightsville, Kurtis Cress (Vicky), Gardnerville, Nev., and Wendy Lemmons (Kevin) Rosedale, six grandchildren Derek Cress, Indianapolis, Stacee Talheim, Gardnerville, Nev., Troy Cress, Indianapolis, Devin Cress, Brazil, Tavis Lemmons, Rosedale, Megan Lemmons, Rosedale, and two step grandsons Stephen and Anthony Tribon, Gardnerville, Nev.
Norma is also survived by eight great-grandchildren and other extended family.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 16, at Moore Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Calcutta Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Little Historic Carbon Church.
