NCMS guard earns gold rating

The North Clay Middle School Winter Guard competed at the Indiana High School Color Guard Association (IHSCGA) New Palestine show Saturday, Feb. 11, coming away with a gold rating in Cadet Class.

Teams earning a gold rating must score a 54 or above.

Other gold ratings went to Greenfield-Central and Zionsville Cadet.

Danville, Avon, Ben Davis and Lawrence Central all received silver ratings.

North Clay's next competition will take place Saturday, Feb. 25, at Northview.

North Clay will begin Cadet Class competition at 3:08 p.m. Other Cadet Class entries include Warren Central, Zionsville Cadet, Ben Davis, Greenfield-Central, Carmel, Martinsville, Hamilton Southeastern, Avon and Clinton Prairie.

The Northview Winter Guard will also compete Saturday, Feb. 25.

Taking part in World Class, Northview will perform at 9:18 p.m. Other World Class squads include Center Grove and Avon.

The Clay City Winter Guard will also compete Feb. 25, in the IHSCGA Goshen Contest.

Taking part in Regional A Class, Clay City will perform at 12:52 p.m.

Other Regional A Class performers include Concordia Lutheran, Bremen, Fort Wayne South Side, Muncie Central, Penn, Columbia City, Manchester, Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger, Crown Point, Winchester, Wabash, Heritage, Monroe Central, Fort Wayne Wayne, Goshen, Jay County, NorthWood and New Haven.

Notes: The Northview High School Percussion Ensemble will begin Indiana Percussion Association competition Saturday, Feb. 25, at Pendleton Heights.

Northview will compete in the PSA Division. Other schools taking part include Avon "A," Carroll, Corydon Central, Danville, East Noble, Greenwood, Martinsville, Mt. Vernon, New Albany, Noblesville, Pendleton Heights, Perry Meridian, South Central, Terre Haute North, Terre Haute South, Tri-West, Vincennes Lincoln and Zionsville.

Northview's next contest is Saturday, March 3, at Corydon Central.
