The following is a list of upcoming area events as provided to The Brazil Times:

Workshop

Ivy Tech Community College will conduct a workshop regarding financial aid at the Linking Education to Adult, Adolescents and Preschoolers (LEAAP) Center, 501 E. Jackson St., Brazil. The event will take place Thursday, Feb. 16, from 9 a.m.-noon, and 3-6 p.m. For further information, call 446-2536.

Craft Time!

All are invited to the Brazil Public Library Thursday, Feb. 16, at 6 p.m., to make a spring luminary.

Cost of the craft project is $3. Those interested in attending must pre-register and prepay for the event. Space is limited.

Meeting Slated

The Clay County Building Corporation will conduct a special meeting at 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 17, in the Commissioner's Courtroom at the Clay County Courthouse.

The event, the annual meeting of the Board of Directors, was set up for the board to consider proceeding with the refinancing of its First Mortgage Bonds, Series 2004 (the "Refinancing"), the selection of the underwriter and financing team for the Refinancing, acting on contracts with Barns and Thornburg and H.J. Umbaugh and Associates and other related matters regarding the issuance of the bonds for the Refinancing.

Dinner Time!

The Clay City Band Boosters will sponsor a dinner Friday prior to the Clay City varsity boys' basketball game against Northview.

The dinner will feature chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, dressing, green beans, rolls and a drink.

It will take place from 5-7 p.m., in the Clay City High School Auditeria.

Cost is $8 for adults and $6 for children 10-under.

Coffee Talk

The Rotary Club of Brazil will conduct its monthly Coffee Talk event Friday, from 6-7 p.m.

The event will take place at the Coffee Grounds Bakery and Coffee Shop, 1115 E. National Ave., Brazil.

Guests are welcome to come and hear more about Rotary.

The theme of the talk is, "Happy Birthday Rotary," as the organization celebrates its 104th year as a service club Feb. 23.

Pancakes!

The Clay County Boy Scout Troop 101 will conduct a Pancake Breakfast and Winter Bazaar from 6:30-10 a.m., Feb. 18.

The event will take place at the Brazil National Guard Armory, 970 W. Craig Ave., Brazil.

Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children (5-under). All funds from the event will be used to send Scouts from Troop 101 to summer camp.

Biscuits And Gravy!

Bee Ridge Church will host an all-you-can-eat biscuits and gravy breakfast Saturday, Feb. 18, from 7-10 a.m.

The event will take place at the church, 10100 N. Kennedy Crossing Rd., Brazil.

Breakfast will be prepared and served by members of the congregation. There is no charge but a freewill offering will be accepted.

All proceeds will benefit the Bee Ridge Church New Building Program.

The public is encouraged to attend.
