The Clay County Republican Club will conduct its monthly meeting Monday, Feb. 20, at 7 p.m., at the Clay County Senior Citizen's Center, 120 S. Franklin St., Brazil.

The guest speaker will be Alan Morrison, candidate for state representative District 42, which includes Posey, Dick Johnson and Brazil Townships, along with Van Buren Precinct 2.

Morrison has lived in West Central Indiana for more than a decade and spent a majority of his childhood in northwest Indiana.

For the past 11 years, Morrison has served as the assistant director for recreational sports and athletic facilities at the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, where he is also the elected staff representative to the board of trustees.

He is an Exchange Club of Terre Haute member and has been involved in the organization's Bikes for Tikes community project.

Morrison also serves as a DECA volunteer judge in the Wabash Valley and state.

Prior to his time at Rose-Hulman, Morrison spent two years as a corporate sales account executive for a professional hockey team in Flint, Mich.

Morrison completed a master's degree at Indiana State University after completing his undergraduate work at Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania.

He and his wife Cinda have two children.

Those planning to attend do not need to be members of the Clay County Republican Club.

However, 2012 membership is available at a cost of $10.
