* Clay City competing at Goshen Saturday
Students at both Northview and Clay City high schools are preparing for a busy weekend.
On Saturday, Northview High School will be the site of the annual Northview Winter Guard Contest.
Both Northview and North Clay Middle School will compete in the event.
Taking part in Cadet Class, North Clay is scheduled to compete at 3 p.m. Other schools competing in Cadet Class include Warren Central, Zionsville Cadet, Ben Davis, Greenfield-Central, Carmel, Martinsville, Hamilton Southeastern, Avon and Clinton Prairie.
Programs in Class Regional A and Class AA will all compete prior to Cadet Class. Awards for all three classes will be distributed at 4:36 p.m.
The Northview Winter Guard will compete in World Class at the event. The Knights are scheduled to compete at 9:26 p.m.
Other schools competing in World Class include Center Grove and Avon.
Programs in Class A and Open Class will all compete prior to World Class. Awards for all three classes will be distributed at 9:46 p.m.
The Indiana High School Color Guard Association sanctions the event, which Northview has hosted since 1986. Competition will begin at 11 a.m. Cost to attend Saturday's event is $6.
The Clay City Winter Guard will also take part in competition Saturday.
The Eels will travel to the Goshen Contest.
Competing in Regional A Class, Clay City will perform at 12:52 p.m. Other schools taking part in Regional A competition include Concordia Lutheran, Bremen, Fort Wayne South Side, Muncie Central, Penn, Columbia City, Manchester, Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger, Crown Point, Winchester, Wabash, Heritage, Monroe Central, Fort Wayne, Goshen, Jay County, NorthWood and New Haven.
Awards for Regional A Class will be distributed at 3:39 p.m.
In addition to the high school guard programs, the winter percussion units will also take part in competition this weekend.
Both Northview and Clay City will compete in the Pendleton Heights Invitational.
Competing in Class PSCA, Clay City will perform at 3:30 p.m., while Northview -- taking part in Class PSA -- will compete at 7:28 p.m.
Other schools competing PSCA Class include Heritage Hills, Owen Valley, Pike Central, New Washington, Monroe Central, Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger, New Castle and Brownsburg.
Other schools competing in PSA Class include Danville, Tri-West, Pendleton Heights, Terre Haute North, Terre Haute South, Avon "A," New Albany, South Central, Zionsville, Corydon Central, Greenwood, Perry Meridian, Vincennes Lincoln, Martinsville, Mt. Vernon, Carroll, East Noble and Noblesville.
